Living Pictures II.

“The Living Pictures 2” brings forth exclusive and rarely seen footage and films which uncover the European context of Croatian cinematography from the period before the Second World War from which not a single Croatian feature-length film remains (although a dozen were made, e.. g.. “The Witch of Gric”)..

In the permeation of European civilization, to which Croatia belonged at the beginning of the last century, appeared the first Croatian director Oktavijan Miletic and Zvonimir Rogoz, the first Croatian actor who gained an international reputation and whose career to this day is without precedent. Documentary film “The Living Pictures 2” has for the first time undoubtedly proven that authors Milan Begovic (Czech film “American Yacht in the Port of Split”, from 1939), and conte Ivo Vojnovic (whose The Lady With Sunflowers was adapted for film in 1919. by the cult American director of “Casablanca” Michael Curtiz, then know as Mihaly Kertesz.) aren’t just great classics of Croatian literature, but of film as well..
